1.1 Introduction of History of Java
In earlier of 1990, in Santa Clara, California. there was a software services company namely, Sun Microsystems. It was an American technology company that sold computers, computer components, software, and information technology services.
1.2 Sun Microsystem
In June 1991,Sun Microsystem team, three engineers James Gosling , Mike Sheridan, and Patrick Naughton sought to design a language applicable to small electrical devices such as set-top boxes, television, etc.
Soon, They initiated the project for the same namely Green Project. Originally gosling was considered to be used C++ language in the project but the idea was rejected for several causes.
1.3 Green Talk Project
The history of java started with the small team of sun engineers called Green Team. and they called their project "GreenTalk" and its file extension was .gt
1.4 Oak become Java
Later, the Green Talk Project named as Oak. Why "Oak"? James gosling used by the term "oak" by the oak tree that remained outside his office and he used to saw from their window. Also, Oak is the symbol of strength and picked as a national tree of numerous countries like the U.S.A., France, Germany, Romania, etc.
But, In 1995, the Oak have to renamed due to trademark by Oak Technologies. For the new name the team gathered in the cafe near his office. they came up with several names such as "dynamic", "revolutionary", "Silk", "jolt", "DNA", etc.
After the long discussion they choose the so unique that was "Java". Java is kind of espresso bean. Which comes from the island of Java (Island in Indonesia).
1.5 Java First Version
Java released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. And also On Jan 23, 1996, Sun Microsystems released the first public implementation as Java 1.0.
There have been many additional features added to the language. Now Java is being used in internet programming, mobile devices, games, e-business solutions, mobile applications, cards, etc.
The versions would then follow one another from version 1 in 1996 to version 17 in 2021.
